So Nicolas Cage is back to clear his ancestors name in an Indiana-Jones-without-the-style adventure. The movie was made due to the success of the first and right away that makes me wonder. Also anything with the blessing of Jerry Bruckheimer worries me as there’s always the chance of seeing a stinking great slab of cheese.
It was aimed at kids so I wasn’t expecting a lot, but it’s patronising having yourself led through a movie in that way. The director gives you no chance to think yourself, you’re just herded like sheep through the plot. What little of a plot there was, there were a few puzzles but nothing they couldn’t handle.
Solving the mystery is getting a little boring, it didn’t seem like they had to work that hard for it. Finding something can be interesting but sometimes it’s what happens after it that is. So hopefully they don’t make another one, who knows why it grossed so highly as the box offices.
